Speaking is an important skill in learning English; however, many students still face difficulties in expressing themselves. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Jigsaw strategy in improving students’ speaking achievement at SMKN 4 Palembang.This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with convenience sampling. A total of 68 tenth-grade students were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught using the Jigsaw strategy, while the control group followed the usual teaching method.The paired sample t-test showed significant improvement in the experimental group (Sig. 0.002 < 0.05), while the control group did not show significant improvement (Sig. 0.103 > 0.05). The independent sample t-test revealed a significant difference between the two groups (Sig. 0.008 < 0.05).The findings indicate that the Jigsaw strategy is effective in enhancing students’ speaking achievement. Implementing this strategy can provide more opportunities for students to participate actively and improve their communication abilities in English classes.
