Perkembangan fasilitas olahraga dan rekreasi di Kota Palembang
menunjukkan peningkatan seiring dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kebutuhan masyarakat akan ruang aktivitas yang representatif. Golf sebagai salah satu cabang olahraga prestisius memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan melalui penyediaan fasilitas golf driving range yang modern, mudah diakses, dan terintegrasi dengan fungsi rekreasi. Perancangan Golf Driving Range di Kota Palembang ini bertujuan untuk menghadirkan sarana latihan golf yang tidak hanya fungsional, tetapi juga memiliki nilai estetika dan identitas arsitektural yang kuat melalui penerapan pendekatan arsitektur kontemporer. Pendekatan arsitektur kontemporer diterapkan melalui pengolahan bentuk yang dinamis, penggunaan material modern seperti baja, kaca, dan beton ekspos,
serta pemanfaatan teknologi bangunan yang responsif terhadap iklim tropis Palembang. Konsep desain menekankan keterbukaan ruang, pencahayaan alami, sirkulasi udara yang optimal, serta integrasi antara ruang dalam dan ruang luar. Selain area latihan utama, fasilitas pendukung seperti clubhouse, pro shop, area komersial, dan ruang komunitas dirancang untuk menciptakan pengalaman yang nyaman dan interaktif bagi pengguna. Penerapan konsep tersebut juga mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs), khususnya SDG 3 (Kehidupan Sehat dan Sejahtera) melalui penyediaan fasilitas olahraga yang mendorong gaya hidup sehat, SDG 11 (Kota dan Permukiman yang Berkelanjutan) melalui pengembangan ruang rekreasi perkotaan
yang berkualitas, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan, serta SDG 9 (Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur) melalui penerapan inovasi desain, material, dan teknologi bangunan dalam mewujudkan fasilitas olahraga yang modern dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman. Hasil perancangan diharapkan mampu menghasilkan Golf Driving Range yang tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan latihan olahraga golf secara optimal, tetapi juga menjadi fasilitas rekreasi yang representatif, berkarakter arsitektur kontemporer, serta mendukung peningkatan kualitas lingkungan binaan dan pembangunan kota yang berkelanjutan di Kota Palembang.

The development of sports and recreational facilities in Palembang has
continued to increase in line with the city's economic growth and the community's demand for representative activity spaces. Golf, as one of the most prestigious sports, has significant potential to be further developed through the provision of a modern, accessible, and recreationally integrated golf driving range facility. The planning and design of a Golf Driving Range in Palembang aims to provide a golf
practice facility that is not only functional but also possesses strong aesthetic value and architectural identity through the application of a Contemporary Architectural approach. The Contemporary Architectural approach is implemented through dynamic building forms, the use of modern materials such as steel, glass, and exposed concrete, as well as the application of building technologies that respond effectively to Palembang's tropical climate. The design concept emphasizes open
spaces, natural lighting, optimal natural ventilation, and the integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. In addition to the main practice area, supporting facilities such as a clubhouse, pro shop, commercial area, and community spaces are designed to create a comfortable and interactive experience for users. Furthermore, the proposed design supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by providing sports facilities that encourage healthy lifestyles, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the development of high-quality, inclusive, and sustainableurban recreational spaces, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the implementation of innovative design strategies, modern materials, and advanced building technologies to create a contemporary sports facility that is adaptive to future development.The proposed design is expected to produce a Golf Driving Range that not only fulfills the functional requirements of golf practice activities but also serves as a representative recreational facility with a distinctive contemporary architectural character.
