Abstract
penguatan pariwisata perkotaan sekaligus mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi kreatif
kuat. Kata kunci: Sungai Musi; waterfront; pusat kreativitas; ruang publik; pariwisata
perkotaan; ekonomi kreatif; arsitektur perkotaan.
Palembang City possesses strategic potential along the Musi Riverbanks, which
serve not only as ecological elements but also as public spaces, tourism destinations, and representations of the city's historical and cultural identity. However, the use of
the riverbanks to date tends to be partial and temporary, primarily focused on
ceremonial activities and specific events. Consequently, they have not been able to
optimally function as a sustainable platform for creative activities and social
interaction. This situation highlights the need for a design approach that integrates
recreation, creativity, and public space within a single, planned area. Therefore, this
final project proposes the design of the Musi Creative Riverfront as a center for
creativity and recreation integrated with the Musi River landscape. It is hoped that it
will act as a catalyst for strengthening urban tourism while encouraging the growth
of the creative economy in Palembang. The design approach emphasizes the
integration of inclusive public spaces, diverse community creative activities, and the
tropical character of Palembang's waterfront area, thereby creating an adaptive, sustainable built environment that imbues a strong sense of city identity. Keywords: Musi River; waterfront; creativity center; public space; urban tourism;
creative economy; urban architecture.
