Abstract
The use of polypropylene fiber in concrete can improve the quality of concrete against the tensile strength of concrete. Polypropylene fiber is a fiber that is waterproof so it cannot absorb water and is often used as an added material to conventional concrete and SCC concrete because of its ability to withstand chemical attacks and has a non-wet surface, so it is able to prevent fiber clumping during stirring. The purpose of the study was to determine the influence caused by polypropylene fiber as an added material with variations of 0.6%, 0.7% and 0.8% on the concrete tensile strength test and the cement water factor (FAS) on the concrete mixture. The method used in this study is an experimental method. The result of this study was that the value of tensile strength at the age of 28 days at the BSP 0.6%+SC0.6% increased by 13.4% from BN+SC's 0.6%. In contrast, in the variation of BSP 0.7%+SC 0.6% and BSP 0.8%+SC 0.6% decreased by 7.7% and 40% from BN+SC 0.6%. The cement water factor increases in each variation, FAS increases due to the addition of polypropylene fiber
