Abstract

Road pavement is the main thing to support safe, comfortable and easy transportation, therefore it is necessary to have adequate and proper pavement for use. Asphalt road pavement layers are one of the most widely used pavements in Indonesia, because they are easy to obtain, efficient and more economical. The problem that often occurs in road pavement is the decrease in the quality of road pavement, efforts to improve the quality of road pavement, one of which is by adding various fillers with the aim of getting good asphalt quality. One of the fillers that can be used in asphalt concrete mixes is pumice ash. This research was conducted to determine the effect of using pumice ash as a substitute for filler in asphalt mixtures. This research was conducted to determine the effect of using pumice ash as a substitute for filler in asphalt mixtures, this will be reviewed from the stability and melting values. This research was conducted at PT. Hakaaston Palembang, while the method used is the Marshall method. Asphalt test results using pumice ash as a filler substitute with variations of 0%, 2%, 3%. For test results with a variation of 3%, the KAO value is higher than the 0% and 2% variation of 6.5% with a stability value of 1483.29 kg and the flow value is 3.93, for the KAO value at 0% variation it is 6% with a stability value of 1151.1 kg and a flow value of 3.29, while for 2% KAO tilapia it is 6.3% with a stability value of 1355.5 kg and a flow value of 3.29. It can be concluded that the higher the use of pumice ash as a substitute for filler in the mixture, the higher the Stability and flow values obtained, conversely the less use of pumice ash as a substitute for filler, the lower stability and flow values obtained
